Diablo 2 Charsi Imbue

I was wondering what you lot think it's best to do with Charsi's and Larzuk's prizes of imbueing (I forgot what it does, if someone cares to explain) and adding sockets to items. I haven't used either of them, and right now my char is on the Epilogue act, getting near the Arreat Summit. Should I wait for a really got non-magical item, what should I do?|||

Aug 24, 2013 Charsi is the blacksmith in the Rogue Encampment and is highly skilled at shaping, crafting and repairing weapons. Picasa software for photos. During the chaos of the attack by the forces of Hell on the Rogue Monastery, she was forced to leave her most important forging tool behind, the Horadric Malus. Feb 19, 2011 Kashya:'Charsi is wasting her time and talents using an inferior hammer! Had she the Horadric Malus, she could make the steel sing and craft you a suit of armor as impenetrable as the Great Eye.' Warriv:'Just as an archer needs bow and arrow, or a draughtsman pen and paper, so Charsi needs the Horadric Malus with which to ply her trade.'

I always save them until I have something decent to use them on. Don't feel you have to use them right away, you'll have them available even when you advance to the next difficulty (incase you did not know that, not trying to insult your intelligence).
The imbue quest reward changes any plain item into a rare version of that item. I like to save this quest for circlets/coronets/tiaras/diadems since they can spawn some nice mods if you're lucky. Some other good choices are plain gloves if you want to try and spawn javazon/bowazon or martial arts gloves with good mods. Belts can spawn good mods, and boots too if you're lucky. Those would be my top choices.
For the socket quest, save those for your end-game gear if possible. Use it to add sockets to uniques, or if you're planning on making a runeword, use it to socket white items. Remember though, when socketing white items you will always obtain the max sockets for that item, so make sure you look that up before proceeding. And make sure you know the difference between a polearm and spear, hahaha. You can't make any of the good act 2 merc runewords in a spear-class weapon! People seem to forget this a lot, lol. (Sorry for that random tidbit, wouldn't want you to waste the quest reward ;-P) And remember, ethereal is better for mercs (once again, not trying to insult intelligence, I just give way too much info, haha).
The arreat summit is great for looking up runewords, and the max sockets on all the weapons/armor, so go check it out when you plan on using your quest rewards. You can also see what mods can spawn on rare items in the magic prefix/suffix section incase you want to imbue something different. Good luck to you!|||Thanks for the reply!!! And I never felted insulted =)
By the way, if I use the imbueing before completing the quest once again on the next difficulty, do I get another chance to imbue or in hell that isn't a reward to the smith quest?|||You get one Imbue for each difficulty level or a total of three. The same is true for Sockets. However, there are Horadric Cube Recipes that will allow you to do the same thing.
Many players like to wait until they have a mid to high character level (clvl) for two reasons. With Charsi, the higher your clvl, the better quality items you'll find and the better the mods you'll get when they're Imbued. Some say you should be at least clvl 45. Some wait until they reach clvl 60. Others say you'll get the best imbues at clvl 80+. Personally, I just wait until I reach Hell difficulty and start finding decent Exceptional and Elite items. As to what you should Imbue? When you're ready, ask yourself, 'What do I need?' If you've found decent armor and weapons, you may want to imbue some Boots or Greaves.
With Larzuk, you'll get the maximum number of sockets an item is allowed to have if you take him an Exceptional or Elite version of that item. If you take him a Normal item, the number of sockets you get is random. It helps if you know what you want to do with your socketed items. Remember, when creating a Rune Word, the item has to have the exact number of sockets, no more and no less. If you want to create a Rune Word that needs four sockets and you take an Elite item, that can have up to six sockets, to Larzuk, then he'll put six sockets in it.

Diablo 2 Charsi Imbue Guide

C'ya on the darkside… ☺|||You get the reward in each of the 3 difficulties no matter what, it'll wait til you feel like using it in each difficulty.
Larzuk's socketing quest you can either use to get a runeword you need early on or save and use to socket a unique later.
Charsi

The imbue is more debatable - whatever you do with it there's a high chance it winds up not particularly useful - so if you're a melee character using it to get a rare weapon in normal may not be an entirely bad play. Things you might decide to use it on otherwise:
1) Diadem - no matter what level you imbue this at it's capable of getting alvl 90 (+2 skills) making it a decent option for a character that's got the quest sitting around but is never going to level. Imbues also make higher alvl modifiers more common than they'd normally be so there is a slightly better chance of imbuing a +2 diadem than just identifying one. Circlets, coronets, and tiaras are also good - but do have level requirements to have the +2 all open (circlet - clvl 83=ilvl 87=alvl 90; coronet - clvl 78=ilvl 82=alvl 90; tiara - clvl 73=ilvl 77 = alvl 90).
2) Staff mod items - imbues get a better chance of getting staff mods (+ to a specific skill) - popular choices for these would either be druid pelts (looking for say a +5 tornado helm), or assassin claws (looking for good trapper claws). When trying for a staff mod item you almost always want to wait as late as you can. It varies from item to item how long you have to wait at minimum - the only one i know off the top of my head is a greater talon should not be imbued before clvl 71 (yielding ilvl 75 which allows alvl 51 and +2 all skills open). And the longer you wait the higher your chance of getting 3 staffmods, and the higher your chance that the staffmods you get will be +3 to the skill.
3) Ethereal crystal sword or dimensional blade - here you're looking for high ED (say 400%+), which you can then upgrade to phaseblade and get indestructible. Don't know the minimum level off the top of my head to try this imbue.
In all these cases there's a high chance of you getting nothing useful, but good luck!|||Thanks you lot for all the responses. I still have 2 doubts tho:
- If I save up my imbueing and socket adding from normal difficulty, once I reach the next difficulty level and complete the quest, will I have 1 chance of doing them or 2?
- On the last reply, the guy talked about using ethereal weapons.. but why is that a good idea if ethereal doesn't get repaired and eventually will get useless? Only to give them to a merchant?
Thanks!!!|||As stated before, you get a total of 3 Imbue quests from Charsi, 3 Socket quests from Larzuk and 3 Personalize quests from Anya. You DO NOT lose them until you use them.
With that in mind, you can kill Baal in Normal difficulty, do Normal Cows, kill Baal in Nightmare difficulty, do Nightmare Cows, kill Baal in Hell difficulty, do Hell Cows, do Pandemonium quest, reach character level (clvl) 99 and STILL be able to go back to Normal difficulty and complete Charsi's Imbue quest, Larzuk's Socket quest and Anya's Personalize quest. Then you can go back to Nightmare difficulty and complete Charsi's Imbue quest, Larzuk's Socket quest and Anya's Personalize quest. And finally, you can go back to Hell difficulty and complete Charsi's Imbue quest, Larzuk's Socket quest and Anya's Personalize quest.

To answer your first 'doubt': Yes, you will get two, not just one. And when you bring Charsi the Horadric Malus in Hell difficulty you will have three, not just one or two.
As for your second 'doubt': Only Xivarmy can explain this to you. However, I will say that some players like using Ethereal items. They make excellent items for your Hireling. Hireling's equipment never loses Durability… Ever! Also, if you're playing a character that doesn't get hit often, then Ethereal Armor can possibly last you indefinitely.
Anyway, I hope this clears up any of your concerns.|||I specifically said Ethereal Crystal Sword or Dimensional Blade. The reason why these two is their elite equivalent, Phase Blade is ALWAYS indestructible (and therefore will not normally spawn ethereal). However crystal swords and dimensional blades CAN spawn ethereal. and will stay ethereal when you upgrade them to a phaseblade in addition to gaining indestructible. The potential for this to make a very painful weapon is significant, but again i'll stress, imbues most of the time are going to come out useless. I was just listing a few novel options to try :)|||

Oh, cool! I never even thought of that. I play an MA Bowazon. All my weapons are always Indestructible. No Ethereal Bows, though. :(

Diablo 2 Charsi Imbue Tips

I currently have 1.14 edition of Diablo II. I used to have it with a previous patch, and in that patch I could make a copy of my save game files, and go to Charsi and imbue an item. If I didn't like the item, I could use a different copy of the files to do another imbue until I got an item I liked. 1.14 doesn't either doesn't like this, or I doing something wrong, because when I try to load that copy character, I get an error message about the character being a bad version. Ozark season 1 1080p torrent. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how to achieve this?
